Australia keeps AD order on quenched and tempered steel plates from 3 countries

On October 3, 2024, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced the final determination for the second anti-dumping (AD) sunset review on imports of quenched and tempered steel plates from Finland, Japan, and Sweden, deciding to continue the AD measure on the subject products from the three countries.

The measure will be put into force on November 5, 2024, adopting the ad valorem duty method.

The interim duty rate is 8.6% for Finland and 5.2% for Japan. Sweden’s SSAB EMEA AB and all other exporters received 8.6%.

The products involved are flat-rolled products of alloyed steel plate, with a width from 600mm up to 3,200mm (inclusive), a thickness from 4.5mm to 110mm (inclusive), and a length up to 14 meters (inclusive). The subject products exclude goods of stainless steel, silicon-electrical steel, and high-speed steel. HS codes for the subject products are 7225.40.00 (statistical codes 21, 22, 23, 24) and 7225.99.00 (statistical code 39).
