According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported a total of around 218,000 tons of cold-rolled coils (CRC) in the first four months of this year, declining by 12% compared to the corresponding period a year ago, due to weaker demand.

Among them, the imports from Russia accounted for the largest proportion, totaling 107,000 tons, down by 26% year on year. However, imports from Ukraine dropped a lot due to the war. The imports plunged by 85% year on year to 2,000 tons only.

Turkey turned to increase its import volume from China. The CRC imports from China reached 26,500 tons during the January-April period. South Korea ranked after China, with 25,800 tons
